This study aims to determine available or not the differences in mathematical problem solving ability using GeMA method and Drill method at Malahayati Islamic Junior High School Jakarta. The research method used is Quasi Experimental. The population in this study are all students of class VIII in Malahayati Islamic Junior High School Jakarta. The sampling technique used simple random sampling and obtained sample of 48 student class VIII in the even semester of academic year 2017/2018. The instrument of this research is a test of mathematical problem solving ability which has been tested the validity of content, advance and construct then validity, reliability. The requirements analysis that is normality test with test of Lilliefors and homogenity test with test of Fisher. Normality test has normal distribution. For homogeneity test data is homogent. The calculation results obtained of 2,994 and significant at α of 5%. It means rejected, so it concluded that there are different in mathematical problem solving ability using GeMA method and Drill method to student’s mathematical problem solving abilty at Malahayati Islamic Junior High School Jakarta.
