Guidelines for Authors

Preface

Imajeri: Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia is a peer-reviewed journal publishing original research. Please see the journal's Aims & Scope for information about its focus, publishing ethics. and peer-review policy. This journal only publishes manuscripts in Indonesia and English. Imajeri: Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia accepts the following types of article: original articles and reviews. Peer review follows a number of stages, beginning with submitting your article to a journal. At this first stage, the journal editor will decide if it suitable for the journal, asking questions such as:

  1. Has the author followed the journal guidelines?
  2. Is this the right journal for this article?
  3. Will the journal readers find it interesting and useful?

The editor might reject the article immediately, but otherwise, it will move to the next stage, and into peer review.

Peer Review

Imajeri: Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia is committed to peer-review integrity and upholding the highest standards of review. Once your paper has been assessed for suitability by the editor, it will then be double-blind peer-reviewed by independent peers within the relevant field. We believe in the integrity of peer review with every journal we publish ascribing to the following statement:

All published research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening, anonymous refereeing by independent expert referees, and consequent revision by article authors when required.

Submission Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • An overview of this journal can be found on Aims & Scope to determine the suitability of your manuscript
  • Downloadable Microsoft Word templates to customize your manuscript.
  • use of pictures, data, and reference formats that have been written in the rules of writing academic articles;
  • All authors in the article agree to the contents of the submitted manuscript.
  • The article has never been published and is also not in the process of being reviewed
  • Manuscripts in Indonesian or English with delivery files must be in Microsoft Word document file format (doc./docx. Or RTF)
  • The manuscript contains the background and research objectives, related studies, problem-solving methods, results and discussions, conclusions, and a list of references.

Format of Articles

Font and Paper

use Times New Roman, A4, single-line spaced.

Title

No more 12 words, bold, 14pt, Left alignment with an initial capital letter for any proper nouns

Author and Affiliation

Full names without academic titles and degrees, are written in capital letters. Font size 10pt. Affiliates are written in full (institution, city, and country). Email addresses are written for correspondent authors only. 

Abstract

Abstract contains background and research objectives, methods, results, and conclusions written with information such as examples in the template. For Indonesian texts, abstracts must be written in two languages, Indonesian and English. Font size 10pt.

Keywords

Please give three to six keywords that are relevant to the topic. Font size 10pt.

Body Text

Articles must fill no more than 16 pages, and Letters not more than 5 pages. Manuscripts are written with Times New Roman, 12 pt, one columns

Figures

Figures should be high quality (1200 dpi for line art, 600 dpi for grayscale and 300 dpi for color, at the correct size). Description of the figure is written under the image with single space and font size 12 pt. Please supply an original image.

Tables

Tables should present new information rather than duplicating what is in the text. Readers should be able to interpret the table without reference to the text. Please supply editable files (.xls format).

Introduction

This section could also provide the expected results. The introduction must be written in single line spacing. The introduction comprises of: (1) research problem; (2) insight and problem solve planning; (3) summary of theoretical studies and the results of the present study (state of the art), related to the observed problems (gap analysis), and (4) research aims.

Methods

Methods should make readers be able to reproduce the experiment. Provide sufficient detail to allow the work to be reproduced. Methods already published should be indicated by a reference: only relevant modifications should be described. Do not repeat the details of established methods. Basically, this section describes the way the research was done. The main materials must be written here: (1) research design; (2) population and samples; (3) sample collection techniques and instrumental development; (4) data analysis techniques.

Results and Discussion

The results of the study must be clearly concluded in answering the research questions. The discussion must: (1) answer the problem and research questions; (2) shows how the findings were obtained; (3) interpreting the findings; (4) linking findings with permanent knowledge structures. Findings in the form of facts found in the field of research are integrated into previous research or present theories. This must be supported by reliable references.

Conclusion

This part provides the summary of results and discussion which refers to the research aims. Thus, the new principal ideas, which are an essential part of the research findings, are developed. Conclusions should answer the objectives of the research.

References

Citation and reference writing is written using APA 6th Edition Style.

Template

The author must write an article in accordance with journal format, as in the template of this journal.

Peer review is an essential part of the publication process, ensuring that Imajeri: Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia maintains high-quality standards for its published papers. Reviewing is often an unseen and unrewarded task. We are striving to recognize the efforts of reviewers.

When reviewing for Imajeri you will:

  1. Are included in the journal’s annual acknowledgment of reviewers.
  2. Receive a personalized reviewer certificate and SK.
  3. Can build your profile on Publons and have your reviewing activity automatically added for participating journals. Publons profiles can also be integrated with ORCID.

Invitation to Review

Manuscripts submitted to Imajeri: Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia are reviewed by at least two experts. Reviewers are asked to evaluate the quality of the manuscript and to provide a recommendation to the external editor on whether a manuscript can be accepted, requires revisions or should be rejected.

We ask invited reviewers to:

  1. Accept or decline any invitations quickly, based on the manuscript title and abstract.
  2. Request an extension in case more time is required to compose a report.

As part of the assessments, reviewers will be asked:

  1. To rate the originality, significance, quality of the presentation, scientific soundness, interest to the readers, overall merit and Indonesian language of the manuscript;
  2. To provide an overall recommendation for the publication of the manuscript;
  3. To provide a detailed, constructive review report.

Confidentiality and Anonymity

Reviewers should keep the content of the manuscript, including the abstract, confidential. Reviewers must inform the Editorial if they would like a student or colleague to complete the review on their behalf.

Imajeri: Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia operates a double-blind peer review. Reviewers should be careful not to reveal their identity to the authors, either in their comments or in metadata for reports submitted in Microsoft Word or PDF format. In all other cases, review reports are considered confidential and will only be disclosed with the explicit permission of the reviewer.

Note that, as the reviewer, you will have access to other reviewers' reports via the online submission system after you have submitted your report.
