Abstrak

Electric energy is the primary need of the community with the depletion of non-renewable energy sources emerging from the crisis of electrical energy. Renewable energy is a solution for generating electricity with sufficient natural potential in Indonesia. The availability of solar energy is a solution to solar power generation with the potential for irradiation in Indonesia which is very possible but still lacks utilization.The design of solar power generation (PLTS) has a capacity of 70 Wp solar panel capacity, 12/24 Volt - 10 Ampere solar charger controller and 84 Ah deepcycle battery. Analysis of planning will be carried out based on direct testing so that it can determine the performance of the equipment. The results of the PLTS design aim to drive a water pump engine with 125 Watt power for watering chilli land. Data on potential solar radiation in Yogyakarta reaches an average of 7 hours / day. The magnitude of the measurement value of the highest voltage is 32.2 volts and the current is 1.46 amperes, the intensity of the sun is 118500 lux in bright cuca and the lowest value produces power of 1.54 watts of voltage 15.32 volts and current of 0.10 amperes, light intensity 13580 watt/m2 in weather cloudy. The maximum power of the calculation results is 46.38 watts and the average power of the solar panels produced reaches 329,196 watts and the amount of conversion efficiency is 54%. The charger power of the PWM type solar charger controller equipment has an average of 213.6 watts and the total power discharger load of 1066.3 watts has an efficiency of 30.94%.
