Abstract

Background: Pembelajaran IPA di SMA dan SMK Muhammadiyah Kota Batu direkomendasikan menerapkan model problem-based learning (PBL) oleh yayasan yang menaunginya. Namun demikian, hampir semua guru belum memahami model PBL dengan benar, sehingga akan berpengaruh terhadap performa guru dalam pembelajaran. Tujuan: tujuan kegiatan ini adalah penguatan performa guru IPA di SMA dan SMK Muhammadiyah Kota Batu dalam mengimplementasikan model PBL. Metode: Metode kegiatan berupa pelatihan dan pendampingan implementasi model PBL. Kegiatan ini telah dilaksanakan di SMA dan SMK Muhammadiyah Kota Batu dengan langkah sosialisasi pelatihan, workshop, pendampingan, monitoring dan evaluasi. Jumlah peserta adalah empat orang guru model. Tim pelaksana adalah tiga orang dosen dari Pendidikan Biologi FKIP Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang. Hasil: Sosialisasi dilakukan dengan ceramah terkait PBL dan strategi pengabdian, workshop dilakukan dengan penyusunan rencana pembelajaran model PBL, pendampingan dilakukan dengan pendekatan lesson study (plan, do, see), monitoring dan evaluasi dilakukan dengan refleksi atas pemahaman dan keterampilan guru dalam merancang dan mengimplementasikan pembelajaran berbasis masalah. Kesimpulan: kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dapat meningkatkan performa 100% guru mitra dalam implementasi model PBL, dilihat dari pemahaman, keterampilan dan sikap guru terhadap PBL dalam menyusun modul pembelajaran dan real teaching.
