Peer Review Process
Editorial Process
Ekonomi Islam implements a rigorous peer-review process. In most cases, manuscripts undergo a single-blind review by at least two independent reviewers, followed by a final acceptance or rejection decision by the Editor-in-Chief or another academic editor authorized by the Editor-in-Chief. The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for ensuring the academic quality of the publication process, including final acceptance decisions, approval of Guest Editors and special issue topics, and the appointment of new Editorial Board members.
All manuscripts submitted to the journal are subject to strict and thorough peer review by qualified experts. This applies to research articles, review articles, spontaneous submissions, and invited papers.
Upon submission, the Managing Editor conducts an initial assessment of the manuscript’s suitability. If deemed appropriate, the Editorial Office organizes the peer-review process by assigning independent reviewers and obtaining at least two review reports for each manuscript. Authors may be requested to revise their manuscripts in accordance with reviewer comments, and a second round of peer review may be conducted if necessary. The final decision is made by the Editor.
Each submitted manuscript is reviewed independently by at least two peer reviewers using a double-blind review process. Publication decisions—acceptance, revision, or rejection—are based on the reviewers’ reports and recommendations.
Editorial Decisions
After peer review, the Editor may issue one of the following decisions:
1. Accept Submission – The manuscript is accepted without revisions.
2. Revisions Required – The manuscript is accepted subject to minor revisions.
3. Resubmit for Review – Substantial revisions are required; the revised manuscript will undergo a second round of peer review.
4. Resubmit Elsewhere – The manuscript cannot be accepted because it falls outside the journal’s scope.
5. Decline Submission – The manuscript is rejected and will not be published.
6. See Comment – The decision is based on specific reviewer feedback provided to the Editor.
In general, manuscripts may be accepted without revision, accepted with minor revisions, accepted after major revisions, or rejected.
Authors will be notified of the review results via email. If revisions are required, authors must submit the revised manuscript within 10 weeks of the notification, addressing all reviewer and editor comments.
