Submission of the manuscript

Papers are accepted for publication in Research of Science Education (RSE) on the understanding that the content has yet to be published or submitted for publication elsewhere. All manuscripts should strictly follow the “Instruction to Authors” of the Journal. Poor language, substantial departures from the instructions, and/or missing or incomplete submission forms will result in returning the manuscript without review. The Journal accepts only manuscripts through the online submission system.

The authors must check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines. Authors must submit two separate files consisting of a Manuscript declaration and an original manuscript without the author's identity, which has been prepared following this journal template. Please download the following template and adjust your text with the template. You could choose to use English or Indonesian templates. We have developed this tool for your convenience.

Title page:

Choose a long title to cover the main points and consider the importance of shortness. Please don't use abbreviations in the title.

A list of all authors of the paper should be prepared. We need full first name, initial(s) for middle name(s), and full last name. Authors' affiliations should be indicated below, followed by their E-mail addresses. The author's affiliation contains only department and university, not the author's degree or position. At least one e-mail address is needed. It will be used as the corresponding author's email address in all contacts with the authors. Furthermore, the complete address, telephone, and fax number should be written.

Abstract

The abstract must be on a separate page. The abstract is important as it may be reproduced elsewhere and is all that many may see of your work. It should be about 250-350 words long and include the study's reason, primary findings, and conclusions drawn from the observation. It should not contain abbreviations and references.

Keywords:

Up to 8 keywords should follow the abstract in addition to those in the title (alphabetically arranged and separated by a comma).

Acknowledgments

The source of financial grants and other funding must be acknowledged, including a frank declaration of the authors’ industrial links and affiliations. The contribution of colleagues or institutions should also be acknowledged.

References

We recommend using a tool such as EndNote, Mendeley, or Reference Manager for reference management and formatting.
EndNote reference styles can be searched for here:
http://www.endnote.com/support/enstyles.asp

Mendeley reference styles can be searched for here:
https://csl.mendeley.com/styleInfo/?styleId=apa6th
Reference Manager reference styles can be searched for here:
http://www.refman.com/support/rmstyles.asp.

References should not be numerical and according to the American Psychological Association (APA 6th) style, in-text citations and the reference page.

In the text, give references in the following forms: 'Stork (1988) said' where it is desired to refer to a specific page, and '(Rapport, 1983)' where giving reference simply as authority for a statement. Note that the names of joint authors are connected by 'and' in the text. When papers are by more than two authors, use et al. after the first author: Ghahreman et al. (2006) or (Ghahreman et al., 2006).

The list of references must include all publications cited in the text but only these. Before submission, please ensure that all references in the text agree with those in the references section and that spelling is consistent throughout. In the list of references, titles of periodicals must be given in full, not abbreviated. For books, provide the title, place of publication, name of the publisher (if after 1930), and an indication of edition if not the first. References should conform as precisely as possible to one of these four styles, according to the type of publication cited

If necessary, give foreign language references in standard English alphabetic form (but copy accents in French, German, Spanish, etc.), transliterating following a recognized scheme.

Tables:

Prepare tables with a word processing program (i.e., NOT Excel).

Vertical lines in tables are not allowed. Tables should be understandable without reference to the main text. Please place tables within the text.  Tables should fit an A4-sized page, preferably in portrait. All tables should be referred to in the text in the proper numerical order (e.g., the first reference to Table 2 cannot precede the first reference to Table 1). Refer to tables parenthetically, e.g., '... (Table 1)'. 'Table 1 shows ...' type statements should always be avoided.

Figures:

All illustrations (line drawings and photographs, maps, histograms, etc.) are figures. Figures should be cited in consecutive order in the text.

Figures should be sized to fit within the column, If supplied electronically, graphics must be provided as high-resolution (at least 300 dpi.) files, saved as .PNG or .JPEG. A high-resolution printout must also be provided. Legends should be concise but comprehensive – the figure and its legend must be understandable without referencing the text. Include definitions of any symbols used and define/explain all abbreviations and units of measurement. Figures should be legible without reference to the main text. Figures should be prepared exclusively with black-and-white or grey-scale settings unless they are meant to be printed in color. For preferred figure sizes, please see the pages of our journal. Figures, drawings, and photographs must always be called "Fig.", followed by a number. Refer to figures parenthetically, e.g. '... (Fig. 1)'. 'Fig. 1 shows ...' type statements should always be avoided when referring to figures presenting results. Use the same font in all figures and within a figure. Cambria is recommended. Freehand lettering is unacceptable. Explain all graphic symbols (e.g. squares, triangles, and so on) within the figure, not in the caption. A legend should be placed under the figure, not next to it. Relate the size of letters, the thickness of lines (preferably uniform for all figure items), and the size of other parts of a figure to the size of the figure itself. All figures should be referred to in the text in the proper numerical order (e.g., the first reference to Fig. 2 cannot precede the first reference to Fig. 1). There is an extra charge for printing illustrations in color.
