Abstrak
Background: Vocational High Schools majoring in Pharmacy are targeted to produce pharmacy graduates ready to use in the world of work to help pharmaceutical engineering staff and pharmacists in pharmacies, clinics, or hospitals. One of the subjects to improve competence in understanding drug compounds with a not easy level is chemistry, where one of the focuses is learning to recognize structure and vocabulary. Therefore, the purpose of our community service to SMK Pharmacy Swadaya Global School students is to improve their understanding of chemistry subjects by using chemistry applications on gadgets that can help overcome these problems. Understanding chemistry competencies by introducing and facilitating the use of several chemical applications in the learning process of chemistry subjects at the Pharmacy Vocational School. Methods: Activities are divided into stages: pretest, counseling delivery, workshop, and post-test. Activities were evaluated to assess the influence of education about the types of helpful chemical applications on SMK Pharmacy students. Results: The post-test results showed an increase in high interpretation data (≥80 value) from 6.67.0% increased to 26.67%, and there was a decrease in low interpretation data (< 60 value) from 76.67% decreased to 33.33%. This shows an increase in understanding of the training topic. The results of the pretest and post-test data processing are a profile of participants' knowledge of experience related to the use of chemical applications in SMK Pharmacy students. Conclusions: Providing education and training on chemical applications increases students' understanding of the introduction of Pharmacy.
