Abstract
The main problem in this research is what factors cause the slow growth of halal certification in micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Padang City and what efforts are being made by the Padang City government regarding the implementation of halal certification in micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Padang City. This research aims to determine the factors causing the slow growth of halal certification in micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Padang City and to determine the efforts made by the Padang City government regarding the implementation of halal certification in micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Padang City. This research uses field research methods with a qualitative approach. The results of the research show that the factor causing the slow growth of halal certification in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Padang City is because the community still thinks that the products produced by business actors are declared halal by the community and awareness of the importance of halal certification is still low because they do not understand the importance of certification. halal and most business actors also do not understand IT and the procedures for applying for halal certification.
