Abstrak





The Bunga Tanjung Farmer Group in Tanjung Gusta Village, Sunggal District, Deli Serdang Regency faces challenges in sheep production and marketing, including limited quality breeding stock and price uncertainty. This community service activity aimed to guide the livestock group in improving sheep business performance through the implementation of supply chain management schemes and contract farming models. The program involved 28 members of the Bunga Tanjung Farmer Group through socialization, training, and mentoring in production and business management aspects. Evaluation was conducted using pre-test and post-test to measure participants' understanding improvement. Results showed significant improvements in farmers' understanding and skills, with average scores increasing from 33.2% to 78.2% for artificial insemination, 44.8% to 80.7% for herbal supplements, and 52.7% to 86.4% for alternative feed. The implementation of contract farming resulted in two cooperation agreements with marketing companies, providing market and price certainty for farmers, reducing price fluctuation risks. In conclusion, this program successfully enhanced farmers' capacity and created mutually beneficial partnerships in the sheep supply chain, positively impacting farmers' productivity and income.
