In general, teachers tend to use the lecture method of teaching, because the learning process is based on mathematics teacher raises will be ineffective. Researchers obtained data mathematical reasoning ability is still low on the material linear program. Many factors affect the success of students in the learning process one of them is the use of the method in accordance with the learning material, in order to determine whether it is appropriate or not the method used in applying the material. This research is using a quantitative approach. The population in this study were all students of class XI in the MAN 1 Takengon school, the sample used 24 students in the Buzz Group class. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Buzz Group learning model on the mathematical reasoning ability of class XI students in MAN 1 Takengon. Data obtained by observation of the activities of teachers and students for learning, questionnaires to determine a student's response to learning Buzz Group and test descriptions to determine the completeness of student learning outcomes. Analysis of data using two-sample t test independent. The results of the analysis of data obtained in class Buzz Group poll ratings get enough criteria. The buzz group class student activities get good criteria. Teacher activities get good criteria scores. Student learning outcomes are completed individually and classically get a value of> 75% of all students. So the conclusion of this study is that effective Buzz Group learning is used to improve students' mathematical reasoning abilities.
