Abstract

This paper proposes a car parking detection system using ATMega16 with a GPS module. Infrared sensors are used to detect empty parking locations which are then processed by ATMega 16 to be forwarded to the GPS module. The GPS module serves to indicate the location of an empty parking lot and is indicated by an LED light indicator. From the results of the design and testing, it was found that the designed system has succeeded in detecting and directing vehicles to an empty parking location. This research can be recommended as an automatic parking system for office buildings
