Implementation of Background Subtraction Method to Calculate Vehicle Objects with OpenCV-Based Video

Abstract

The increasing number of vehicles raises new problems such as shortage of parking space, congestion, and increased risk of accidents. Background subtraction is a method that can be used to detect differences from vehicle objects with video. In this method there is a process to obtain the foreground image that is by comparing the current frame with the background model then the image will be at the thresholding There are 3 stages in the application of the background subtraction method: Pre-processing, Background Modelling, and Foreground Detection. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the background subtraction method used in this test managed to detect motion objects on vehicle video with a degree of precision (precision) of 75%, accuracy (recall) of 100%, and the degree of accurateness of 75%.
