Abstract

This study aims to investigate the relationship between tooth brushing habits and the prevalence of dental plaque and caries among visually impaired individuals in Tangerang Selatan. The study involved 20 participants aged 10th till 17th with varying degrees of visual impairment. Tooth brushing habits were assessed through self-report questionnaires, and dental plaque and caries prevalence were evaluated through dental examinations. The findings suggest a significant association between tooth brushing habits and the prevalence of dental plaque and caries among visually impaired individuals in Tangerang Selatan. These results highlight the importance of promoting good oral hygiene practices in this population to reduce the risk of dental diseases.
