Abstract
ABSTRACT
Fruit consumption will decrease cardiovascular heart disease risk. Some fruits have the ability to prevent cardiovascular heart disease namely pome, apple, and tomato. Those fruits are containing antioxidants, especially flavonoid. The working mechanism of bioactive substances contained in the fruits can prevent heart disease. Some of the working mechanisms of bioactive substances are decreasing of blood cholesterol level, preventing blood clotting and preventing plaque deposit on blood vessel. The attempt in introducing and promoting the benefit of fruit forheart disease prevention to society is done continually through many kind of information media so fruits benefit to health can spread widely.

ABSTRAK
Konsumsi buah akan menurunkan risiko penyakit jantung. Beberapa buah memiliki kemampuan untuk mencegah penyakit jantung. Buah yang memiliki kemampuan mencegah penyakit jantung antara lain delima, apel, dan tomat. Buah-buah tersebut mengandung zat antioksidan, terutama kandungan flavonoid. Mekanisme kerja zat bioaktif yang terkandung dalam buah-buahan dapat mencegah penyakit jantung. Beberapa mekanisme kerja zat bioaktif yang ada antara lain penurunan kadar kolesterol darah, mencegah penggumpalan darah, dan mencegah timbunan plak pada pembuluh darah. Upaya pengenalan dan promosi untuk masyarakat tentang manfaat buah sebagai pencegahan penyakit jantung, dilakukan secara kontinyu melalui berbagai media informasi, sehingga informasi khasiat buah utuk kesehatan semakin luas.
