<p><strong>Jurnal Pendidikan Islam</strong> is a journal of the Islamic Education Department, Faculty of Islamic Studies, Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof DR HAMKA (E-ISSN: <a href="https://portal.issn.org/resource/issn/2549-7146">2549-7146</a> , P-ISSN: <a href="https://portal.issn.org/resource/issn/2087-7064">2087-7064</a>). The Jurnal Pendidikan Islam is a national peer-reviewed journal. This is a semi-annual journal, published twice a year (<strong>May and November)</strong>.</p> <p><strong>Jurnal Pendidikan Islam</strong> focuses on a broad range of topics covering all categories of the Islamic Education Studies, Islamic Education Science, Learning Psychology, Islamic Educational Philosophy, Lesson Plan, Lesson Design, Development of Resources and Learning Media, Learning Theory of Islamic Education, Learning Strategies of Islamic Education, Islamic Education Curriculum Development, Objectives and Evaluations of Educational Curriculum, Tafsir Tarbawi, and Hadist Tarbawi.</p> <p>The full manuscript should be sent electronically using the online submission form. <p><em>The education sector is recognised as an important and vital medium in preventing the infiltration of radicalism-extremism among the young generation. It is through education that young people can improve their cognitive-affective capacity through the cultivation of positive values, such as discipline, tolerance and critical thinking. Awareness efforts about the dangers of intolerance, radicalism, extremism and even acts of terrorism can be instilled through the education process, so that these negative things can be prevented as early as possible. This research aims to examine the role of education, especially school communities, in preventing radicalism-extremism among young students. This research will focus on the role that has been carried out in several school communities through the preparation of the School Operational Curriculum (KOSP) in efforts to prevent radicalism-extremism in school communities. <p><em>The development of technology and information must be accompanied by the improvement of teachers' competencies. Teacher competence refers to a set of skills that teachers or educators must possess to perform their duties accurately and effectively. If an Islamic Education (PAI) teacher lacks competence, it will be challenging to achieve learning objectives, especially when dealing with Generation Alpha in the 21st century. This study aims to understand how Islamic Education teachers at SMPN 5 Surabaya improve their competencies to face Generation Alpha in the 21st century. The research method used is qualitative, along with library research, utilizing journals and books. The research design employs a case study, and data collection tools include observations and interviews. Based on the findings, it was discovered that PAI teachers at SMPN 5 Surabaya are certified. However, there are still deficiencies in the teachers’ skills or strategies to enhance their competencies to effectively engage with Generation Alpha in the 21st century. In addition, external challenges, such as time and learning facilities, were identified, highlighting the need to find appropriate strategies for improving PAI teachers’ competencies and addressing external issues to achieve the expected learning outcomes in line with technological advancements.</em></p>Wildan Fahmi FebriansyahMuhammad FahmiFathur Rohman

<p><em>Philosophy of science, which literally means the love of wisdom, has an important role in building the theoretical foundation for various disciplines, including Islamic education management. In this context, the philosophy of science helps to integrate Islamic principles with the demands of modern science, so that it can answer global challenges in education. This study aims to analyze the position of philosophy of science as a foundation in the development of Islamic educational management theory, as well as understand how philosophy of science provides a strong theoretical framework to build educational management theory that is in accordance with the characteristics and mission of Islamic education. This research uses a library research approach by examining various literature related to the philosophy of science and Islamic education management. The results of the study show that the philosophy of science functions as the foundation of ontology, epistemology, and axiology in the development of Islamic education management theory. The philosophy of science helps explain the nature of knowledge, how to acquire knowledge, and the values that underlie the practice of educational management. This research makes an important contribution to understanding the role of philosophy of science in building an effective and efficient theory of Islamic education management. <p><em>This study aims to examine and learn about the characteristics of the educational leadership of the Prophet Muhammad in modern times. The research method used is a literature study using data sources from the book Educational Leadership and several journals, articles, and national and international seminar proceedings. The results of this study indicate that the educational leadership carried out by the Prophet Muhammad can provide an example to other leaders on how to be a good leader. In addition to having good morals, the Prophet Muhammad also has four mandatory characteristics that are the basis for the criteria for a good leader: siddiq, amanah, tabligh, and fathanah. Thus, it is appropriate for a leader to emulate the characteristics of the Prophet Muhammad in carrying out his leadership. <p><em>Islamic education has faced several challenges due to developments over time. In facing this, every Islamic educational institution must choose a leadership model that is effective in advancing Islamic education. Transformational leadership focuses on change through inspiring, motivating and empowering. So that transformational leadership can be a solution in dealing with these problems. This research examines the role of transformational leadership in improving the quality of Islamic education. Islamic education leaders do not only focus on structural development, but also shape the character of students in accordance with Islamic teachings. It is hoped that the results of this research will enable educational leaders to understand the leadership roles needed at this time. The aim of this research is to determine the application and role of school principals' transformational leadership in improving the quality of Islamic education along with the factors that influence the application of transformational leadership in Islamic education. The method used in this research is a literature study using secondary data in data collection. So that the result is transformational leadership, the principal is not only a structural leader but also supports and motivates his members in accordance with organizational goals. In transformational leadership, school principals must apply 4 principles, namely ideal influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual simulation and individual attention. In transformational leadership there are factors that encourage and inhibit its implementation, namely openness of information between the principal and school members as well as adequate infrastructure and human resources. Apart from the driving factors, there are also inhibiting factors, namely the lack of training for teachers and the unwillingness of school members to develop with modern times.</em></p>Nabilatun MubasyirohM Imamul Muttaqin

<p><em>The focus of individual education in Indonesia is on the maximun development of students based on their potential and societal values. The government, through Law No. 20 of 2003, regulates th national education system, emphasizing faith, piety, and noble character as the main competencies of graduates. Character education involves habituating good behavior, while Islamic religious education in schools aims to protect students from negative environmental influences. However, the effectiveness of religious education in shaping student behavior is being questioned. This study evaluates the effectiveness of contextual-based Islamic Regilious Education (PAI) in shaping the morals and character of students Mts Ainul Yaqin. The study employs qualitative methods through interviews and observations. The consequences display that the contextual approach helps students relate PAI material to real-world situations, increases student engagement, and Encourages the practice of Islamic values in everyday life. Teachers play a crucial role in implementing this learning, with strategies that activate students and connect learning with real-life experiences. The findings suggest collaboration between teachers, parents as well as the neighborhood to support the formation of student character. Islamic regilious education has proven to be important in shaping adolescent morality and addressing student misconduct in schools.</em></p>M. AndikaNazaha Ulin Nuha

<p><em>This study aims to find common ground on Islamic education reform that combines traditionalism (religious knowledge, morals, exemplary teachers) and modernism (technology, critical thinking, 21st century skills) through a balanced curriculum, varied methods, conducive environment to produce superior generations who are able to answer challenges. This research was conducted by analysing literature related to traditionalism, modernism and Islamic education. Data were collected from relevant articles, books and scientific journals. Descriptive-qualitative analysis was conducted to find the principles of modernism and traditionalism that can be incorporated into Islamic education. The results show that the principles of traditionalism, such as understanding of religious sciences, morality, and teacher personality, can be integrated with the principles of modernism, such as technological capabilities, critical thinking, and modern skills. With a balanced curriculum, varied learning approaches and a conducive learning environment, this integration can be achieved. The study concludes that by combining the values of modernism and traditionalism, Islamic education reform can produce human beings who have a balance between religious and general knowledge and are able to compete in the modern era. This is important to answer the challenges of the times and produce a generation that excels intellectually, religiously and socially.</em></p>Muhammad Arroyan
