The background of this research is the importance of parenting patterns that not only foster obedience but also foster independence, responsibility, and a holistic awareness of Islamic educational values. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The results indicate that democratic parenting at At-Tajdid Boarding School, Tasikmalaya, is implemented through three main strategies: open dialogue between caregivers, teachers, and students; giving students responsibility within the boarding and school environments; and fostering the internalization of Islamic educational values through role models and strengthening spiritual aspects. This strategy has successfully created a religious, participatory, and humanistic educational culture. These findings reinforce the view that democratic parenting in Islamic education not only fosters discipline but also strengthens students' character and leadership holistically.
2025-11-30T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 https://journal.uhamka.ac.id/index.php/jpi/article/view/21712The Concept of Intercession According to Shaykh Salih Al-Fawzan’s Contemporary Interpretation and Its Influence on the Strengthening of theological Education2025-11-27T20:19:40+07:00Luthfi Dwi Cahyoluthfi.cahyo18@gmail.comMoch. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach through library research, with primary sources including al-Fawzān’s works, Qur’anic verses, and authentic hadiths, and secondary sources comprising national and international academic literature. Data were analyzed using content and thematic analysis to identify key concepts, arguments, and patterns of thought. The findings indicate that al-Fawzān defines intercession as a supplication by a creature to Allah to grant benefit or avert harm for others, requiring two main conditions: Allah’s permission for the intercessor and Allah’s approval for the recipient. Intercession is classified into two categories: al-shafā‘ah al-muthbatah (affirmed intercession) and al-shafā‘ah al-manfiyyah (rejected intercession), consistent with the views of classical scholars and modern theological literature. These findings emphasize that a correct understanding of intercession supports the purification of tawhid and prevents doctrinal deviation. The study also suggests further comparative research across Islamic schools of thought and the integration of al-Fawzān’s perspectives into modern tauhid education.
2025-11-30T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 https://journal.uhamka.ac.id/index.php/jpi/article/view/21331Transformasi Media Sosial sebagai Lingkungan Pendidikan Islami yang Mendorong Literasi dan Pemikiran Kritis 2025-11-13T09:39:43+07:00Elia Nur Rohmah Elialiyaarahmaa11@gmail.comApriliana Nayla ZahratusshiefaAprilianaNaylaZahratusshiefa@gmail.comDewa Satria SaputraDewaSatriaSaputra@gmail.comMohammad SyaifuddinMohammadSyaifuddin@gmail.com
This study aims to analyze the transformation of social media as a space for Islamic education in the digital era by highlighting the role of platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and X (Twitter) as learning environments that instill Islamic values, enhance digital literacy, and foster critical thinking among young Muslims. Using a qualitative descriptive method with a phenomenological approach, this research explores the meaning and dynamics of digital da’wah through literature review and non-participant observation of popular Islamic accounts, which were then analyzed thematically following the stages of data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that social media has evolved from merely a medium of communication and entertainment into a non-formal educational space rich in moral, spiritual, and intellectual values. The success of social media as an Islamic educational environment is determined by the credibility of its scholarly sources, the application of ethical and courteous online behavior, and the active participation of digital learning communities. The integration of Islamic values with digital literacy is the key to maintaining the digital sphere as an ethical, educational, and productive space. This study concludes that social media holds great potential as a transformative ecosystem for Islamic education when managed strategically and based on the principle of iqra’, as stated in Surah Al-‘Alaq [96]: 1–5. Consequently, Islamic education in the digital era serves not only as a means of knowledge transfer but also as a process of shaping character, critical awareness, and moral responsibility among Muslim youth amid the complexities of global information flows.
2025-11-30T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 https://journal.uhamka.ac.id/index.php/jpi/article/view/20729The Role of Religious Teachers in Internalizing Religious Moderation Values for Children with Special Needs2025-10-12T10:35:39+07:00Mohammad Ilham Nadlifuddin Nadlifuddinilhamnadif098@gmail.comMohammad Khoirur Rozaqmkhrozaq24@ms.iainkudus.ac.idTri Andita Novianatattaandita15@gmail.com
Religious moderation is crucial for fostering tolerance and preventing extremism in diverse societies, including among children with special needs. Islamic character is a crucial aspect of education that is instilled not only through Islamic Religious Education subjects but also through habitual practices in daily school life. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation involving teachers, students, and educational staff. The results show that the habituation strategy is implemented through routine activities such as congregational prayers, Qur'an recitation, collective prayers, and the cultivation of polite behavior. These habituations are consistently applied and integrated into the school culture, thus fostering Islamic values such as discipline, responsibility, honesty, and mutual respect. The role of teachers, parents, and the guidance and counseling approach also supports the success of this strategy. Despite challenges, such as the lack of continuity of habituation at home, the synergy between school and family becomes a key factor in sustainably instilling Islamic character. Therefore, the habituation strategy as a hidden curriculum has proven effective in improving students’ Islamic character and can serve as a model for strengthening character education based on Islamic values in schools.
2025-11-30T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 https://journal.uhamka.ac.id/index.php/jpi/article/view/21307Peran Ustadz Dalam Membentuk Sikap Nasionalisme Santri di Pondok Pesantren Al-Fathimiyah Karawang2025-11-13T11:00:01+07:00Muhammad Amar Ma’ruf marufAmarmaruf1506@gmail.comMuthoharohAmarmaruf1506@gmail.comAgungagung@gmail.com

Abstract

This study was motivated by the importance of internalizing national values in Islamic boarding schools as Islamic educational institutions that play a strategic role in building national character. Islamic boarding schools function not only as places of spiritual guidance, but also as forums for shaping nationalism among the younger generation. This study aims to describe the role of ustadz in shaping the nationalism of students at the Al-Fathimiyah Islamic Boarding School in Karawang. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out interactively through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that ustadz have a significant role in shaping the nationalistic attitudes of santri through their functions as educators, mentors, role models, and motivators. National values are integrated into religious learning activities and the daily activities of students through role modeling, habit formation, and national activities such as flag ceremonies, discussions on the value of unity, and social activities. In addition, teachers also face challenges such as limited resources, differences in student motivation, and the influence of outside cultures. These challenges are overcome through innovative learning methods, collaboration with pesantren administrators, and the balanced strengthening of religious and nationalist values. Thus, the active role of ustadz at the Al-Fathimiyah Karawang Islamic Boarding School contributes significantly to shaping students who have noble character, a nationalist spirit, and a balance between faith and love for the nation.

Keywords: Role of Ustadz, Nationalism, Students, Islamic Boarding School, Character Building
2025-11-30T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025
