Furthermore, English Language Teaching (ELT) should teach students character education values in the textbook and its materials. This research aimed to investigate the learning materials depicting character education values presented or not in the textbook. The learning materials in this research were analysed, both visual and verbal materials depictions. This research was designed as a content analysis because it described the analysis of character education values found in the textbook. The research results of a content analysis revealed that to analyse the five core character education values covered in the textbook, specifically in semester 2. However, it was not all of them found in each chapter. The textbook only presented the character education values of nationalism, independence, mutual cooperation, and integrity, except religiosity with 15 data in total. The researcher applied the ADDIE model to carry out the research. The study participants were 17 students of SMPN 4 Satu Atap Sejangkung. Students used the developed product outside school hours as supplementary materials to support what they have learned at school. Interviews for students’ needs and opinions and experts’ judgments were used to collect the research data. The study revealed the students’ needs for MALL materials, the MALL materials were applicable according to the experts, and students had positive opinions towards the MALL materials. In the classroom, there is not only an exchange of knowledge but also effective aspects of teaching and learning that might be challenging for pre-service teachers as they are mostly unfamiliar with the real classroom situation. Thus, this study aimed to explore and investigate one of the authors’ as a pre-service teacher's emotional experiences during a teaching practicum program, chosen through a purposeful sampling technique. The selected participant met the requirements for the study: an EFL pre-service teacher assigned to a teaching practicum program, capable and willing to write diary entries for data collection. To record the emotional experiences, the participant wrote diary entries during practicum. The data collection will be analyzed using categorical content analysis before writing the findings in narrative form. The findings explicate that pre-service teacher experienced both negative and positive emotions as a result of their interaction related to academic activities and their environment. This study aims to describe students' perceptions of the use of DeepL in English learning in Jabodetabek. The population of this study is 210 students who have had the experience of learning English by utilizing DeepL. This study is descriptive quantitative research using a questionnaire. In collecting data, this study used a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire to determine students' perceptions of the use of DeepL for learning English. The results of this study show that the mean of this study was over 3.5 reflecting good and very good perception. A total of 57.35% of students strongly agreed and 39.71% of students agreed that DeepL helps in understanding English texts, although the use of DeepL has impacts or drawbacks. Life Today book is an English book that becomes one of the primary reading references. However, this book likely has not been widely used by teachers in Indonesia because it is still new. It is interesting to study more on this based on the teachers who have used it. This study examines the reading materials in the English Life Today book of 12 grade in Senior High School level based on EFL Teachers’ view. This research applied mix-method with the use of close-ended and open-ended questionnaires to obtain the opinions of 50 English teachers in Jakarta and some vicinities areas. After gathering the data, the researchers tabulated, analyzed, and interpreted it systematically. The findings showed that 50 EFL teachers dominantly gave positive views towards reading materials in the English Life Today book based on its reading contents aspect, language use, pre-and post-reading, and presentation aspects. The EFL teachers also gave constructive suggestion including the more variation topics need to be added, the extra thesaurus also need to be provided, and the separated reading texts needs to be identified to differentiate low and high students’ level.</p> 2024-10-31T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 ELLTER Journal
